Heather’s Twins ~ 2009

April 22, 2009 By Tracy Shiflett

Heather is a funny little goat, and JW calls her “Piggy” for her short legs and short neck.  She was really beginning to look like a fat sausage when she finally had her kids.  It amazes me how tiny these Spanish goats are when they are born.  They get to their feet fast though, and are generally able to move quickly at just a couple of hours old.  I wonder how many of these little black and white boys we will have by the time we’re through?  This one has his little ears turned up on the ends.

The view in the front field is growing more and more, and there are some great games being played by the kids.  It is so funny to watch them racing around and even jumping and climbing into the mesquite trees.

Of course, with this sort of high adventure and good times, the dairy girls are ready to run out and join the main herd!
